Everyone's Story Is Different.

I was extremely excited to see what Miss Pat had in store for us today. I was glad to see the same faces that day with a new face in the class! As usual, we sat in a circle and then Miss Pat took attendance. Like the first class, we had to walk around but this time, we had to walk in slow motion, backwards and sideways. We walked everywhere. It was fun and tiring. I kept bumping into my classmate which was sort of a discreet icebreaker. Then we had to stop and introduce ourselves the nearest person to us. After that, we had to pick a spot that we were comfortable with and had to do a pose at that spot. The poses that most my classmates made were incredibly funny. I sat close to Bryan with my legs up showing as if I were at the beach. We moved around the room changing our poses and everyone’s pose had a different story to tell. In addition to that, everyone looked at each other’s pose differently. I learned that everyone thinks differently and no one’s opinion is right or wrong.

  Moving on, we then had to pair up. And with our partner, we had to have contact with them. I paired up with Soo Queen and I had my hands on her hair. We looked as if we were best friends and I were about to give her French braids. Then there was Nicole and Bryan who looked as though they were siblings fighting. It was ridiculously funny. Everyone was!

  After that activity, we had to again walk around in circles and choose somebody to be our bomb. In doing so, we had to keep far away from this person as possible. It was funny  because my bomb kept running towards me. Bryan and Brianna scared the crap outta me! Then we had to choose someone to be our shield and we had to keep close to the person. I chose Miss Pat, knowing I would be untouchable :D

 It was a really good day and the activities were fun as hell! I’m beginning to love Miss Pat as she is hilariously creative. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us after the holidays.

Introducing, Miss Pat.

  I was certain that I was going to take theatre this semester and when I got Miss Chan as my theatre lecturer, I was quite curious on how she would be like. I honestly thought she would be boring and conservative but oh man, how I was absolutely wrong! Miss Pat was hilarious, flexible, crazy & just the type of lecturer I love.
 
  On the first day of class, she had us sit in a circle and she introduced herself. Miss Pat demonstrated her many talents, which were dancing stage combat and of course acting. When we introduced ourselves, we NEEDED to be as LOUD as possible. There was also a twist in the introduction. When we say our name, we had to do an interesting pose. Everyone had a chance to do it and it was very interesting to see the ideas people came up with.  I personally liked Bryan and Brianna's pose.

  Then, we went back to a circle and had to count in a rotation, 1 2 3. Some of us were quite shy and blur but then we got use to each other progressing in volume. After two tries, the person who had to say 2, had to clap. The first couple of tries were funny as hell cause most of us got the counting mixed up. It was hilarious. But soon, our coordination worked out and we got to do a perfect rotation.

  Then Miss pat gave us a neon green tennis ball. I knew we were going to have plenty of fun. We did. She made us scream out the person's name of who we wanted to throw the tennis ball too. This activity questioned our volume and eye contact. At first, a few people failed to catch the ball. This was due to lack of communication I guess but later on, we all could catch the ball when it was thrown to us. Then she added another ball which made the activity a lot more interesting. It was also fun to see the different body movements and facial expressions made by everyone whiletrying to catch and throw the ball. So from one corner to another, everyone was screaming out each other's name.

  After this activity, we had to walk around. First we walked normally. Then we had to avoid eye contact, stop and shake hands with the person closest to us. Then we walked with our feet outwards. I felt like a penguin. After that, Miss Pat had us walk with our feet inwards. I felt like a retard with a leg problem. Right after that, we had to walk on our heels. This hurt but I felt like I was climbing a mountain. Then we walkled on our toes. I felt like I was on a runway in a Sex in the City movie.

  Everyone made new friends and it was a fun theatre class. I can't wait to see what's next!
